I saw the Reverend Horton Heat play a sold out show here in Lincoln last night and boy, was I disappointed. The venue felt like an oven, the sound wasn't good, they played for a whopping 1 hour, which consisted of several 5 minute Jagermeister and Bud Light guzzling sessions where the lights were turned down and goofy sound effects and music were played over the P.A. They hardly adressed the crowd and the songs seemed to all run together, and they left the stage without an encore leaving the sold out crowd chanting "BULLSHIT! BULLSHIT!" All in all, it was a waste of $15 and time, very disappointed after the awesome performance they put on when I saw them the first time, a year or so ago. Just my 2 cents.

Hmm. They're playing in my town next month and I had planned on going, seeing as how few acts pass through that I have any interest in seeing. I've never seen them before so I thought it might be fun. Can you tell me what to expect at one of their shows as far as the atmosphere and the type of crowd they attract? I asked this in another thread but nobody has responded yet. Thanks.

Man, that sucks! Sorry to hear that. I sure liked their performance on the DVD. I've been meaning to catch them one of these days.

The reverend horton heat has done pretty much the same show for the last 8 years. He is telling the same jokes now that he told on warped tour back in 1998. He has a basic setlist and basicly inserts his latest songs that he is pushing in various places in it. The jager and sound effects are standard and if you go to his show just go to checkout the great guitar playing that is made to look utterly easy.

The crowd was almost like what you would see at a Social D show, punks, greasers, pin up girl look a likes, rockabilly and psychobilly cats, average joes, etc. I saw several people wearing Social D t shirts and even a few mohawks.
